1. Acceptance and license
By downloading, installing, or using The Last Ember, you agree to these terms. PureCodeBase grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license for personal, non-commercial entertainment use, subject to applicable law and the Apple App Store terms.
2. The game
The Last Ember is an offline-first narrative roguelite. Runs are generated deterministically from a seed, but content, balance, platform support, and availability may change as the game is updated. The game does not require an account, cloud save, or online connection for ordinary play.
3. In-app purchase
- The prologue is available without payment.
- The complete game may be unlocked through one optional, non-consumable Apple in-app purchase.
- Apple processes payment details and controls transaction and refund handling. We do not receive your payment-card details.
- Restore Purchases is available for eligible non-consumable purchases.
- Pricing, availability, taxes, and refunds are governed by the Apple App Store and applicable law.

4. Local progress
Runs, settings, journal entries, and meta-progress are stored locally on your device. We are not responsible for progress lost through app deletion, device reset, storage clearing, failed migration, or device damage. Do not rely on the app as a sole backup of important information.
5. Fair use
You may not cheat, exploit vulnerabilities, reverse engineer or redistribute the app, interfere with Apple billing, bypass access controls, infringe third-party rights, or use the game unlawfully.
6. Availability and liability
The game is provided to the extent available and permitted by law. We may fix bugs, rebalance content, add or remove scenes, or discontinue features. Nothing in these terms excludes consumer rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded.
7. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms when the app or legal requirements change. The effective date above will be updated with material revisions. German law applies unless mandatory consumer protection law provides otherwise.
